Sr. Electronics/Electro-Optics Design Engineer
We seek an experienced Electro-Optics/Electronics Engineer. The ideal candidate will have experience with designing electronic components from prototype circuit design through prototype manufacturing. This must be hands on experience from breadboard development and CAD circuit design through prototype construction. The ideal candidate should preferably also have knowledge of electro-optical components and the ability to design and build products based on these electro-optical components. Additionally the ideal candidate is preferably knowledgeable in software development for microprocessor components and embedded hardware systems. This person must be a self starter who can function with little supervision, has the ability to write and communicate, and can assist in the generation of new business.
The candidate will be responsible for the following across all applications in electronics design:
- Circuit Design: Ability to create basic circuitry, breadboards designs, test circuits and prototype/production modules
- Engineering Design: Ability to design system as a whole and incorporation of COTS hardware is a primary capability
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Knowledge of mechanical and electrical testing of components and systems.
- Technical Writing Ability: Ability to write and formulate innovative technology solutions
In addition, typical applications might include the following:
- Electro-Optics Design: Familiarity with state of the art electro-optical technology platforms
- Embedded Systems Programming: Ability to program microchip logic (Zigbee, GPS, microprocessors) for circuitry and for embedded computers is a key talent
- Mechanical Component Testing: Ability to perform mechanical testing and failure analysis of large-area circuits and devices.
Because of the nature of our business and the information associated with this position, interested candidates must be United States citizens and be able to obtain a secret clearance. Selected applicants may be subject to a security investigation. Salary dependant on experience.
